Fall Days are Supposed to be Sunny Days

...aren't they?

Autumn Splendor
Somewhere between Berks and Chester Counties, PA

It seems the warm fall colors
play beautifully against the cool blues sky.
So why then,
on my fall excursions,
are the skies always grey.
[Pouty Face]

So I made a Lightroom 5 Preset
for cloudy fall days,
because I am getting tired of
trying to add a little sunshine to each image.

Here are a few before/after samples
of what I call Autumn Splendor.

If you like the preset I will share it with you.
I only tested it in LR5 on cloudy landscape images
where I wanted warm colors to pop.
I do adjust the Whites and Shadows sliders to taste on each image.

If you want blue sky,
well, you're going to have to add that yourself.

Click here for the free download.
(It will likely work in LR4 as well.)

In the Storm

Did I fool you?
The lightning was added in post processing
just for fun.

Four Trees

When I took the photo I thought there were three trees,
but after putting it on the computer I saw there were four!

I added a butterscotch layer
and a white layer to give it a
wintry washed out effect.

Hunterton County, NJ

James, who lives in my neck of the woods, clued me into
Hunterton Co., NJ.
And it is GORGEOUS there.
I wanted to put an offer on one the the homes for sale
and never leave.
I'll be posting more pics from the area on my other blog later this week.

Visit Old Barns for more barns!

Morning at Mondauk Park

This in a first in an effort to find beauty 'in my backyard.'
I think, living in suburbia, my mind thinks I need to go 'somewhere else' for beautiful photos.
And while I do believe it is more difficult in suburbia to find beautiful scenes,
I want to train my eye to find them.
Here, the fog hides the rush hour traffic in the background. ;)
And I like the way the morning light colors the tree.

Edited in PSE8 with
Coffee Shop Actions:
S Curve Pop
Sun Kissed (minus the lens flare)
